This collection is a visual celebration of the Igbo bride her strength, softness, and symbolic homecoming. I was inspired by the emotional spectacle of her entrance: drums echoing, aunties dancing, coral beads glistening under the sun. I wanted to capture not just the garments she wears but the reverence with which she is received. Each look in this collection reimagines that ceremonial walk layered with meaning, dignity, and celebration. May every woman who wears Zubere feel like she’s walking toward her highest self.

KEY FABRICS AND EMBELISHMENTS • Custom made Traditional Igbo fabric (Lion Motif): Symbol of strength, ancestral royalty, and spiritual confidence. The lion motif pays homage to the strength of Igbo women powerful yet graceful. • Two-tone Crepe: A reflection of duality the modern and the traditional, the intimate and the ceremonial. • Raffia Fringe: Inspired by masquerade regalia and traditional Igbo dance skirts. The tiered raffia references the celebratory movement of an Igbo bride entering her new home. EMBELLISHMENTS: • Coral Beads: Traditionally worn by royalty and brides, coral beads symbolize wealth, purity, and feminine honor. Their strategic placement on shoulders, necklines, and straps marks the wearer as a woman of pride and presence.
