Motunrayo
This collection is a ritual of return. Rooted in the Osun Festival of Nigeria’s Yoruba tradition, Of Water and Spirit draws from
the sacred river of Oshun goddess of fertility, beauty, and deep emotion and the ancestral spectacle of masquerade, where the
living become vessels for the divine.
Through tailoring, drape, embroidery, and movement, each garment channels the ceremony: the beads as currency of memory,
the fringe as spirit in motion, the gold as offering.
The masquerade is not costume it is transformation. And here, fashion becomes a language of remembering.
Designer Moturanyo Yetunde Ajayi reimagines this sacred theatre for the modern body stitching mythology into silhouettes,
and ritual into form.
This is not nostalgia. This is invocation in cloth
